理大眼科視光學院研究成果列全球十五亞洲排名最佳

香港理工大學眼科視光學院最近獲澳洲《Clinical and Experimental Optometry》期刊發表的文獻計量分析列入全球二十強研究影響力最高的大學，位列十五；也是亞洲唯一一所高等院校上榜。

期刊指出，全球約有245所眼科視光學院，能躋身全球二十強之列的學府來自7個國家或地區，包括美國（8所）、英國（5所）、澳洲（3所）、加拿大（1所）、香港（1所）、新西蘭（1所）及葡萄牙（1所）。此排名意味著理大眼科視光學院是全球最佳6%的眼科視光學院之一，也是亞洲的領先院校。

理大眼科視光學院素以近視控制、糖尿病視網膜病變及角膜生物特徵等方面的研究貢獻，備受國際學術界認同。科研眼科視光學講座教授、梁顯利長者健康視覺教授、眼科視光學院學院主任杜嗣河教授表示：「隨著學院的研究團隊越趨成熟，加上世界級科研設備配套，我相信學院未來在科研創新及技術開發上能有更大成就。」

此排名基於一個全球眼科視光學學者排名系統而成，系統以電腦演算法分析Scopus論文數據庫的資料更新排名。作者整理出研究影響力最高的200名研究員所屬院校，逐一比對它們的總論文徵引率(h-index)及論文總數，總結出全球二十強研究影響力最高的大學排名榜。

隨著學院的研究團隊越趨成熟，加上世界級科研設備配套，我相信學院未來在科研創新及技術開發上能有更大成就。

萬眾期待2021年的第一個實體講座！

香港光學會在今年9月16日舉辦持續進修課程實體講座，很榮幸邀請到余珊眼科專科醫生作為當晚講師，題目為"Eye disease in early stage: role of Ophthalmologists and optometrists" 。

因疫情影響，從2020年開始，一切的社交活動都要暫停甚至取消，實體講座也不例外。但持續進修是所有專業人士應有的學習態度，是不可以暫停的，所以online網上講座就成為了這1年零9個月的唯一方法去持續進修！

究竟online 講座是否可以完全取代實體講座？業界人士能完全接受這形式的嗎？是否所有學習課題都不需要面對面教授？甚至實習工作坊都能用 online取代？這些疑問都從今次的實體講座裡找到答案！

學會舉辦講座超過二十年，從未試過在報名第一天，頭15分鐘就額滿！有很多會員與及非會員的視光師都無法參加，在此向大家說聲不好意思。因新冠肺炎病毒尚未完全清零之情況下，社交活動仍然有相當的限制，所以租用的場地只能接納 50％的原本容量，簡單來講，原本容納100人的場地，根據現時限聚令的要求，只可以接受50人參加！還有社交距離、飲食限制及體溫檢測等等，實在很不容易才能做到！為達到一切標目，今次講座學會選擇在酒店舉辦，務求零瑕疵！結果令人滿意，當晚跌序良好，一切順利進行！

當晚的講座，醫生講師用活生生的病例個案去讓參加者容易明白到各種眼病的形成及早期治療的方法，大家獲益良多。除了從醫生身上學到專業知識外，有更深的一種體會，就是對實體講座的期待及渴求。眼見每一位視光師都很認真去聽，Q&A環節上，有很多很多的問題提出，可見大家真的很需要學會舉辦更多實體講座！

事實上，有些同業已逐漸習慣了網上講座，但喜歡不喜歡就是另一回事。如果有得選擇，學會相信業界還是比較喜愛實體面授，更容易吸收知識，這亦是一路以來舉辦講座的目的！在學會層面上，只要會員需要，學會必定盡量達成！

因視光師們反應非常熱烈，光學會決定隨即在10月28日籌辦多一個實體講座兼工作坊給香港所有視光師參加。今次找來更大的場地，希望更多同業有機會參加。題目為
"與乾眼症相關的臉板腺功能障礙, 診斷與處理" ，現在已接受報名，名額有限，額滿即止！再帶來多一個好消息給大家，第十九屆香港國際視光學會議將在11月11號舉辦今年會採取雙線安排，有網上參與及實體參與兩樣。同樣也是名額有限，希望到時見到大家！

舉辦講座得以成功，贊助是非常重要的一環，在此感謝今次的贊助商Nuovo Bright Limited，希望日後再有更多的合作機會。

In light of this and in keeping with the spirit of our mission to support our profession worldwide, we have made the decision to waive the fees for the first 1,000 registrants for the program the ‘Eyes Around the World – A Global Day of Learning’.

We hope this gesture of goodwill can be the first steps towards recovery and healing in the optometric world, which has been so affected by the events as of late. We hope you will join us for this wonderful event and thank you for being a part of the WCO community.
