Surgical Management of Dysfunctional Lens Syndrome (DLS) and Various Refractive Errors
Abstract:
Dysfunctional Lens Syndrome (DLS) is an age related progressive decline of lens functionality and clarity, causing presbyopia, early cataracts, decreased vision and dysphotopsia. Surgical options mainly based on Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) by means of phacoemsulsificatiom and premium presbyopia-correcting intra-ocular lens (PCIOL) implantation. This talk aims to provide an understanding of the procedure of RLE, various types of PCIOL, cases / PCIOL selection, possible risks and complications of phacoemulsificaition, as well as a brief introduction of various types of refractive surgeries such as SMILE PRO , Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICL) and SILK.

Turning Challenges into Success: Multifocal Contact Lenses for Presbyopia
Abstract:
As the contact lens-wearing population ages, presbyopia becomes a significant concern, often leaving patients dissatisfied with their existing correction options. Many struggle to maintain the visual clarity required for daily activities, leading to frustration and potential dropout. Multifocal contact lenses have emerged as an effective solution, offering clear vision across all distances while preserving binocular function and stereopsis. However, fitting multifocal soft contact lenses can be challenging and time-consuming. Optometrists often struggle to achieve optimal visual outcomes that align with patients’ expectations for comfort and visual demands. This presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of the clinical considerations and practical strategies essential for successful multifocal lens fitting.
